Anza-Borrego Photography on Display at the California Nature Art Museum in Solvang
The beauty of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is on display at the California Nature Art Museum in Solvang, where local award-winning photographer Paulette Donnellon's exhibition, Untamed Desert, is open through January 18, 2027.
For Borrego Springs residents and everyone who loves Anza-Borrego, the exhibition is a reminder that the landscapes, wildlife, and quiet beauty of our desert continue to inspire people far beyond the valley. Donnellon's photographs feature familiar sights, including desert bighorn sheep, burrowing owls, dramatic sunsets, and the rugged scenery that makes Anza-Borrego one of California's most treasured places.
Donnellon is well known throughout the Borrego community for her nature and wildlife photography. She serves on the board of the Anza-Borrego Foundation and leads photography workshops that encourage ethical wildlife photography while helping others appreciate the desert's fragile ecosystem.
Her work has earned numerous honors, including California Wildlife Photo of the Year, Best in Show at the San Diego County Fair, and the Grand Prize in the National Park Foundation's Share the Experience photography competition.
Whether you're planning a visit to Solvang or simply appreciate seeing Borrego represented beyond the desert, Untamed Desert showcases the extraordinary landscapes and wildlife that make Anza-Borrego a place worth protecting and celebrating.
