How big is Anza-Borrego Desert State Park?

More than 600,000 acres, or roughly 1,000 square miles. It is the largest state park in California and the third largest in the United States, spanning parts of San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties.

How much does it cost to enter Anza-Borrego?

Day use is $10 per vehicle, collected at the Visitor Center, developed campgrounds and several popular trailheads including The Slot and Hellhole Canyon. The park has no entrance gates and much of it can be accessed without a fee.

When is wildflower season at Anza-Borrego?

Annual wildflowers can appear from January through mid-April, with peak bloom most often between late February and early April. Timing varies year to year based on rainfall and temperature.

Is Anza-Borrego a Dark Sky Park?

Yes. The park was designated an International Dark Sky Park in 2018 at Silver tier. Borrego Springs, the town at its center, has been an International Dark Sky Community since 2009, the first in California.

Do I need four-wheel drive at Anza-Borrego?

Not for the paved roads, the Visitor Center or the main campgrounds. The vast majority of the park's roughly 500 miles of dirt roads do require a high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Is Anza-Borrego Desert State Park open at night?

Yes, the park is open 24 hours a day, year-round. The Visitor Center is open daily 9am to 5pm October through May, and weekends and holidays only June through September.

Rams Hill Hosts Second Stop of Your Golf Tour (YGT)

Two rounds of the three-part competition are now available to watch, bringing Borrego Springs and Rams Hill to a worldwide YouTube golf audience

Rams Hill Golf Club is taking center stage in Your Golf Tour (YGT), hosting the second regular-season stop of the new competitive golf series created by Grant Horvat, George Bryan and Wesley Bryan.

The tour brings together 16 players competing for more than $3 million, with Rams Hill and the Borrego Springs desert providing the backdrop for the second event of YGT’s inaugural season.

The Rams Hill event follows YGT’s opening stop at Pursell Farms, where Team Brad won the event and a $250,000 prize. Team Wesley finished second, Team Grant third and Team George fourth.

Coverage of the Rams Hill competition is being released in three rounds, and the first two are now available to watch.

Round 1, The 2nd Stop on the Road to $3,000,000, premiered August 31 on Grant Horvat Golf.

Round 2, Only 2 Teams Will Survive (YGT), premiered September 7 on Bryan Bros Golf.

The third and final round of the Rams Hill event is scheduled for September 14 on the YGT channel, when the event results and payouts will be revealed.

A New Competitive Golf Series

Your Golf Tour brings together four teams and 16 players for a series of regular-season stops leading toward the season championship.

Rams Hill is the second stop on that road, giving viewers a chance to follow the competition while getting an up-close look at one of Borrego Springs’ signature destinations.

Rams Hill Takes the YGT Stage

The videos showcase Rams Hill’s Tom Fazio-designed course against the dramatic desert and mountain landscape surrounding Borrego Springs.

For the community, the event also puts Borrego Springs in front of a major online golf audience as players compete across the Rams Hill course throughout the three-part event.
