History Preservation Day
Visit the Old Borego Townsite and Step Back in Time
Sunday, November 10, 2025 | 1:00–3:00 p.m.
1580 Rango Way, Borrego Springs, CA 92004
Discover where Borrego began. The Borrego Civic Foundation invites you to History Preservation Day at the Old Borego Townsite, a rare chance to tour some of Borrego Springs’ original buildings from the 1930s and 1940s. These structures once served as the hub for early homesteaders and farmers shaping life in the desert valley.
Visitors can stroll the quiet grounds, meet longtime residents, and step inside one of Borrego’s first homes—still standing as a reminder of simpler times and the spirit of early settlers.
Adding to the celebration, Borrego Springs Elementary School 4th graders will display their essays on “Borrego Now and Then,” with three students receiving awards for their thoughtful reflections on the community’s history and growth.
Experience the story of Borrego Springs—its perseverance, progress, and pride—at this special event honoring the people who built the foundation of today’s desert community.
