Did You Know? Rostros y Corazón Serves Salton City and Beyond

Rostros y Corazón, meaning “Faces and Heart,” is a community-based nonprofit in Salton City led by Graciela Mendivil Ramos. The organization provides direct assistance to individuals and families facing food insecurity, housing challenges, domestic violence, and limited access to healthcare or education.

Operating in partnership with regional agencies and local volunteers, Rostros y Corazón distributes groceries, clothing, and school supplies, offers referrals for medical and legal support, and maintains temporary housing for families in crisis. It also coordinates community events such as Día de los Tres Reyes, an annual celebration that brings resources and outreach to local children and families.

How to Help

Current donation needs include:

  • Toiletries and hygiene items

  • School supplies and backpacks

  • Toys and new clothes for children

  • Bedding and blankets

  • Freezers or temporary housing units

  • Monetary contributions to fund essential services

Rostros y Corazón continues to expand its programs to meet rising needs in Imperial County. Donations and partnerships help sustain these efforts and strengthen support for residents across the desert region.
