Long-running golf tournament supports Borrego Springs Children’s Center with funds and supplies
The Borrego Open golf tournament once again brought golfers together in support of local children, raising $7,000 for the Borrego Springs Children’s Center.
The update appeared in the most recent Borrego Springs Youth and Seniors Center newsletter, in a piece written by Teresa West, Executive Director.
Held April 12–13 at the RoadRunner Club, the tournament began Saturday morning under mild spring weather, with temperatures in the 80s and a light breeze. Golfers traveled from as far away as Hawaii to participate in the long-running event, which has supported the Children’s Center for many years.
In addition to the $7,000 donation, the Children’s Center also received crayons, markers, paper goods, bandages, and other needed supplies.
West thanked the golfers, RoadRunner Club, and all who continue to support the historic tournament, which has been part of Borrego Springs for more than 50 years.
