The Sons of the American Legion (Borrego Springs) has announced its officers for the 2026–27 year. As part of the American Legion Family, the organization honors the service and sacrifice of veterans while supporting programs that benefit veterans, youth, and communities.

  • 2nd Vice Commander: Darryl Perry
  • Adjutant, Membership and Finance: Mark Dedes
  • Sergeant-at-Arms: Tom Collins

The Sons of the American Legion (SAL) was founded in 1932 to honor the service and sacrifice of American Legion veterans. Membership is open to male descendants of veterans who served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership.

As part of the American Legion Family, Sons of the American Legion members support veterans, military families, youth programs, and community service projects. The organization emphasizes preserving American traditions and values, strengthening citizenship, improving the lives of children, and supporting veterans and their families.

Nationally, SAL members have raised millions of dollars for veteran and youth programs, including more than $6 million for The American Legion Child Welfare Foundation. Members have also volunteered hundreds of thousands of hours in support of veterans through hospitals, homes, and community programs.

The local squadron works alongside American Legion Post 853 in Borrego Springs, supporting veterans and contributing to community activities throughout the year.

Congratulations to the incoming officers as they begin their year of service to the organization, veterans, and the Borrego Springs community.
