What is Borrego Valley Community Radio?

Borrego Valley Community Radio is a grassroots, not-for-profit project, designed from the ground up to be built by the community and serve the community.

How Will It Serve the Community?

  • Free-Form Music: Borrego Valley Community Radio will provide music from all genres, largely contributed by community members who want to try being a DJ for a while!

  • Live Event Coverage: Opportunities to cover live events around the community, such as school events, community gatherings, live music, and more.

  • Support Local Efforts: Promote local businesses and events while strongly encouraging community endeavors and involvement.

  • Inspire Students: Amazing opportunities to reach out to students in our schools by offering hands-on workshops and activities to inspire careers in radio and communications.

  • Emergency Hub: Serve as a critical hub for communications, connections, and vital information when needs arise, especially during emergencies if local cell or landline infrastructure goes down. (Reminder: Everyone should have a battery-powered radio handy!)

Would You Like to Help? Here’s How!

  • Donate Your Time: Help build and maintain this amazing community project.

  • Underwrite Equipment: Donate or underwrite a piece of equipment or cover a monthly operating expense (broadcast mixer, microphones, and DJ CD player are top of the list!).

  • Support Bilingual Programming: Programación Bilingüe!

  • Donate Music: Share your records or CDs to expand our music collection.

  • Make a Financial Contribution: Make a monthly or one-time donation to support the station.

  • Be on the Air: Submit your favorite playlist and receive on-air credit for your music program.

  • Lend Your Voice: Use your wonderful voice to record bumpers, station IDs, commercials, or community calendar announcements.

  • Buy Ad Space: Coming soon—advertise your local business or event!

  • Cover Local Events: Go on location to cover events for the station and post to the socials. We’ll really need this!

Attention Local Musicians!

Make your music heard on Borrego Valley Community Radio! Have airtime to talk about your group, music, and history—or take over the DJ booth yourself!
