What is Borrego Valley Community Radio?
Borrego Valley Community Radio is a grassroots, not-for-profit project, designed from the ground up to be built by the community and serve the community.

How Will It Serve the Community?
- Free-Form Music: Borrego Valley Community Radio will provide music from all genres, largely contributed by community members who want to try being a DJ for a while!
- Live Event Coverage: Opportunities to cover live events around the community, such as school events, community gatherings, live music, and more.
- Support Local Efforts: Promote local businesses and events while strongly encouraging community endeavors and involvement.
- Inspire Students: Amazing opportunities to reach out to students in our schools by offering hands-on workshops and activities to inspire careers in radio and communications.
- Emergency Hub: Serve as a critical hub for communications, connections, and vital information when needs arise, especially during emergencies if local cell or landline infrastructure goes down. (Reminder: Everyone should have a battery-powered radio handy!)

Looking for something creative and free for kids this weekend? The Borrego Art Institute is hosting a KidsArt class on Sunday, July 27, from 1 to 3 PM where children ages 7 to 17 can make their own colorful pinwheel. All supplies are provided No registration required Held inside the Borrego Art Institute Gallery, 665 Palm Canyon Drive This fun, drop-in class encourages creativity and welcomes kids of all experience levels. Food, Fun, and Community in Borrego Springs Looking for something fun and social this weekend? Head to American Legion Post 853 on Sunday, July 27 for an afternoon of community connection, great food, and friendly trivia. Carnitas, rice, and beans will be available for purchase starting at 1:00 PM, followed by a trivia game at 2:00 PM. Everyone is welcome — locals, visitors, and newcomers alike. $1.00 buy-in Events like this are a great reminder that Borrego Springs is a year-round community. Whether it's summer or winter, there’s always something happening and someone to share it with. Post 853 continues to be a place where people gather for good causes and good company. This grant offers $1,000–$4,000 in financial assistance to help cover education-related expenses. The deadline to apply is November 15 .
